It’s a wrap! Vogue Fashion’s Night Out
It was 4pm and hundreds of Vogue Fashion’s Night Out flags flutter in the balmy breeze, in anticipation of the night’s big event. The Belvedere Bar was crowded. There was Kate Waterhouse, Camilla Franks, Nicole Trunfio, all chattering excitedly and sipping passionfruit cocktails. Melissa Hoyer takes to the Nokia stage to introduce singer Jessica Mauboy, star of Australia’s favourite movie at the moment, The Sapphires. With a shake and a shimmy, Mauboy kicks off with Gotcha, the song she wrote for the film, quickly followed by the sassy Land of a Thousand Dances. The Vogue Precinct in Martin Place bustles with people, but the busiest tent is the Kora Organics pop-up store, where a lengthy queue forms of those keen to have their photos taken with model and Kora creator Miranda Kerr. Gracious as ever, Kerr snuggles with babies and beams that high-wattage smile for a thousand phone cameras. In the tent around the corner, Sarah Murdoch demonstrates the versatility of the Vogue tattoos, sporting not one but two. All proceeds will go to the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute.
